MashMatch is a small, invite-only hobby app that scores bourbons against your taste. Here is the plain-language version of how it works and what it does with your data.
MashMatch is about whiskey and is intended only for adults of legal drinking age (21+ in the US). Please drink responsibly. Nothing here is professional, medical, or purchasing advice.
MashMatch lets you connect with friends to compare palates. Connecting is mutual and opt-in: you share your code or link, or an admin invite connects you. Once connected, a friend can see your palate profile, your rating on bottles you have both rated, and the bottles you loved — so the app can show how your tastes line up. A friend never sees your full shelf, your want-to-try list, your notes, or your scan history. You can remove a friend at any time, which stops that sharing.
MashMatch uses an AI vision model to read labels and known product details. It can be wrong, especially on blurry photos or obscure bottles. Curated bottle data takes priority where we have it. Prices are estimates, not offers.
Want your account and data removed? Email us and we will delete it — that removes your ratings, shelf, want-to-try list, scans, palate profile, and friend connections. Because this is invite-only, we can also revoke any invite link at any time.
MashMatch is provided as-is, for fun, with no guarantees of accuracy or uptime. Use it at your own discretion.
